The Book
Building Speed portrays women in technical careers behind the scenes of motorcycle racing and in motorcycle development. Female mechanics, female engineers, female designers ...
It traces their individual paths, reveals their successes, talents and values, but also obstacles and setbacks in their profession.
The book consists of three types of chapters:
- Live reports from the racetrack written very directly, like a live broadcast from the racetrack
- Short biographies for each woman, highlighting the individual story
- Info boxes on background and specialized knowledge about the motorbike industry scattered throughout the book
However, the women were not interviewed simply because they are women. This book portrays pros and personalities from all over the world.
This book is a source of inspiration for everyone.
It is aimed at anyone who is willing to listen to their inner voice and then has the courage to follow it at full throttle.
The book project entitled "Bikeberufene" (Motorcalled) started in July 2023. The interview phase was completed at the end of 2024. I finished the manuscript in July 2025. After several rounds of revision, the Meyer & Meyer Verlag published it in April 2026. The English version will follow.
